Instructions for electric vehicle charging
Here, you can find the instructions for charging an electric vehicle at Parking Energy’s charging points. You can order a starter package free of charge from our website, which includes registration instructions and the necessary NFC tag.
Registering as a user:
- Register as a user of the service using Parking Energy’s application, which can be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store (“Parking Energy”).
- Add your contact information and payment method.
- If a company is paying for the electricity consumption of your vehicle (a full car benefit or your own company), please remember to register the company’s information as the payer, including the business ID.
Adding a new user with an NFC tag:
- Open the Parking Energy application (after you have first registered as a user).
- Press the menu symbol in the top left corner (three lines on top of each other) and select “Edit NFC tags”.
- Press the + symbol at the bottom of the menu and activate the NFC tag you received from the starter package for your user account using the QR code on the card or by typing in the numbers under the QR code. You will receive an NFC card, QR code and number from the starter package you ordered.
- If you ordered an NFC tag to be connected to a charging cable in your starter package, this must also be activated during the first time. Instructions are included in the starter package. PLEASE NOTE
- Start using the service in accordance with the instructions at Parking Energy’s charging points.
Please note that there are no QR codes for charging points in private use. Charging can start by using Parking Energy’s free NFC tags.
Charging at public charging points
Using a QR code:
- Open the Parking Energy application.
- Press the home icon at the bottom left corner (house symbol).
- Select “Scan QR code to charge”.
- Scan the QR code at the charging point.
- Connect the charging cable to the device so that charging begins.
A map of public charging points and their availability information can be found in the Parking Energy application.
Using an NFC tag:
- First, activate the NFC tag. Add the NFC tag you received from the starter package to your user account using the QR code on the card or by typing in the numbers under the QR code.
- When using a slow charging point, the registered NFC tag connected to the end of the cable will enable automatic identification. You will receive instructions for attaching the NFC tag to the charging cable from the starter package you ordered.
- At Type2 charging points, touch the symbol below the charging point’s screen or the plug or screen surrounded by LED lights with your NFC tag.
- Connect the charging cable to the device so that charging begins.
To stop charging:
- Touch the symbol below the charging point’s screen or the plug or screen surrounded by LED lights with your NFC tag (NFC card or NFC tag attached to the charging cable).
- Detach the charging cable when the screen shows that charging has ended.
Price of charging:
The price of the charging point’s electricity will be confirmed via text message at the start of charging, at which point you still have the opportunity to stop charging for free. At the more powerful charging points (22 kW), there may also be an additional time-related fee in addition to the cost of charging. The time fee varies between €0.01/min and €0.02/min. The time fee is valid for as along as the charging cable is connected to the charging point.

Order the starter package free of charge
The starter package includes a small NFC tag to be attached to the vehicle’s charging cable, as well as a QR code and number. After you have registered as a user of Parking Energy and added the personal NFC tag and QR code you received in the starter package into our application, identification will happen automatically going forward whenever you visit a charging point. Please note that the QR code is only needed when using public Parking Energy charging points.
